Wallis Annenberg Pocket Lists Malibu Manse for $39M
Uber philanthropist Wallis Annenberg, now in her 70s and the only surviving offspring of publishing tycoon Walter Annenberg, has made her beachfront house in the guard-gated Colony community in Malibu available as an off-market listing at an undisclosed price that real estate insider Peter Propertyseller told this property gossip is $39 million.
Once owned by Michael Landon, Annenberg purchased the property, in 2006 for $22.75 million and hired architect Frederick Fisher to fashion an 8,400-square-foot contemporary with 70 feet of ocean frontage and parking for up to 10 cars. There are four en-suite bedrooms, a separate staff apartment and a master suite with office/sitting area and oceanside terrace. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliders open to a roomy deck with lap-length swimming pool, spa, fire pit and panoramic vistas from Santa Monica to Catalina Island.
Annenberg also owns the lot across the street, acquired in 2010 for $6 million, and also available off market at an undisclosed price. Other high-profile homeowners in the Colony include Rob Reiner, Paul Reiser, John McEnroe, Sting and Jerry Perenchio who — by our last count — owns a dozen homes in the Colony.
