Will Gluck Whisper Lists in Hollywood Hills

SELLER: Will Gluck LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA PRICE: $2,950,000 SIZE: 2,854 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Over the summer, increasingly in-demand film and television writer/director/producer Will Gluck quietly acquired 3.3+ vacant and private acres in a celebrity-packed neck of the Hollywood Hills. The purchase may or may not be why he and his long-time wife have quietly floated their privately situated contemporary residence high above the also celebrified Outpost Estates neighborhood as an off-market listing with an asking price of $2.95 million.

Mister Gluck, in case his name isn’t familiar with some of the children, got his Tinseltown feet wet as a writer for “The John Larroquette Show” in the mid-1990s before he moved on to a whole bunch of short-lived television programs this property gossip has neither seen nor heard of before including “Grosse Pointe,” “Luis,” and “The Loop.” His more recent credits include having written and produced for the short-lived “The Michael J. Fox Show” and he might best known for writing, producing and/or directing the ensemble films “Easy A” and “Friends With Benefits.” He also co-wrote, co-produced and directed the soon-to-be released silver screen adaptation of the Broadway musical “Annie” which was also co-produced by showbiz luminaries who include Jay-Z and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Property records show Mister and Missus Gluck purchased their Outpost Estates residence in 2000 for $565,000 from 1960s folk singer Carolyn Hester and jazz musician David Blume. Digital marketing materials show the 2,854 square foot house, at the tail end of a long gated drive at the end of a pin quiet cul-de-sac, sits on nearly an acre of land and was originally built in the early 1970s. The two-story house has, quite clearly, undergone extensive renovations and upgrades since then and listing details show there are up to five bedrooms and a total of four bathrooms.

Loft-like, open plan main living space have pale wood floors, an asymmetrical fireplace, a pitched ceiling with exposed beams, and numerous windows and glass doors that open to a deck cantilevered over the steep hillside with canyon and glittery city lights views. In addition to a small den with concrete floor and built-in entertainment unit, listing details indicate there are two potential bedrooms on the main floor and two more upstairs that share a Jack ‘n’ Jill style bathroom along with a cozy master bedroom with fireplace and private en suite.

There’s a tree-shielded courtyard with sunken spa between the dining area and one of the main floor bedrooms and the deck off the main floor living space leads to a narrow but flat lawn that meanders along the hillside to a private point with all but unobstructed canyon and city views.
