YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Several weeks ago Your Mama told the children how pin thin actress and style icon Kate Bosworth sold her Los Angeles home for $2,375,000. At the time we didn’t know who the buyer was but, as it turns out, Miz Bosworth sold her Hollywood Hills house to another celebrity: Both Yolanda Yakketyyak and Lucy Spillerguts — along with plenty of circumstantial evidence we dug up in property records — snitched to Your Mama that the new owner of Miz Bosworth’s Nichols Canyon crib is none other than celebrity real estate property gossip column regular Vince Vaughn.
Your Mama already dissed and discussed the property in question at some length back in April so suffice for today to say only that the updated and upgraded 2,890-square-foot house was originally built in 1955, sits behind gates on more than half an acre and has open plan living spaces and three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Exterior spaces include a long driveway and small motor court, a long, combination deck and brick terrace that runs the full length along the back of the house and, tucked around the side where it’s bordered by a towering wall of bamboo, a lap-lane swimming pool.
Mister Vaughn, whose movie have grossed more than three billion dollars worldwide — maintains an impressive portfolio of residential properties. He still owns a 12,000-square-foot triplex penthouse atop the historic Palmolive building in Chicago (IL) that he picked up during his bachelor days in 2006 for $12 million. The 6’5” actor hoisted the 19-room spread on the open market in 2011 as a whisper listing for — the scuttlebutt went — an aggressively rose-tinted $27.4 million. The following year the five bedroom and four full and four half bathroom aerie was officially listed on the open market at $18.4 million and the price eventually dropped to $16.75 million before it was taken off the market in early 2013.
Mister Vaughn, who can claim two People’s Choice awards and one Teen Choice award, also owns a 4,063-square-foot townhouse type residence in Chi-Town’s River North nabe he acquired in 2005 for $1.425 million and has had listed for lease on and off since 2010 at prices that range from seven grand to $9,500 per month.
A few months after Mister Vaughn took his behemoth bachelor pad penthouse in Chicago off the open market he and wife, former realtor Kyla Weber, shelled out $3,925,000 for a Beaver Cleaver-worthy five bedroom and six bathroom center hall Colonial in the upscale community of La Cañada Flintridge about 15 miles due north of downtown Los Angeles and earlier this year the property mad pair added to their growing property portfolio with the $6,447,000 purchase of a 7,308-square-foot Neo-Craftsman mini-mansion in the rich and trendy Manhattan Beach community. They purchased the gated six-bedroom and seven bathroom residence from former USC football head coach Lane Kiffin.
