Heidi Klum Lists Brentwood Faux-Euro Estate for $25,000,000

Now being advertised as "the Heidi Klum estate," this custom-built, 12,300-square-foot mansion in gated Brentwood Country Estates was once a foreclosure. According to the Real Estalker, it was built (and lost) by "an investment banker who went belly up," perhaps in part from the crazy expenses incurred in dotting the house with no-doubt decadent European decor, like a fireplace in the library that came from Napoleon's farmhouse (it appears to be untouched in the newest listing photos). Klum and then-husband Seal won the house in a bidding war in 2010, paying $14.2 million, and proceeded to perform more than six months worth of renovations. (It wasn't in terrible shape. ) Today, the eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom house has a formal rose garden, an infinity pool, a koi pond, "secret gardens," ocean views, and hiking trails on its 8.5-acre property. Klum says in the Wall Street Journal that when she first visited the property, "I honestly felt that I was no longer in Los Angeles, but instead was strolling the gardens of a home in the south of France." This piece of Europe in Los Angeles is asking $25 million.
